Wangfujing Market and Olympic Park - First Day in Beijing, by Garth

This summer we went on a trip to China, Korea, and the Philippines.  On our first day in Beijing, the first stop on our trip, we went to Wangfujing Market and then to Olympic Park. It was interesting to walk through Wangfujing Market to see the different types of food they sold. Anyone interested in having starfish on a stick?  What about scorpion (eat them fast because they are still wiggling and squiggling)?  You can have it there.  They also sold sea horses and other bugs and small animals on a stick. They sold smoking iced tea, because it had dry ice in it. We didn't try any of the food options at this market.

After Wangfujing market we went to Olympic Park to see the Bird's Nest Stadium and the Water Cube, where they held the swimming events.
